MODERN CHIC MEETS TROPICAL FUN, "CORDERO" LINE LAUNCHES DURING FASHION WEEK IN NYC
New York City,November 25 2003--FRESH, HOT and VERSATILE define this amazing line of "Cordero" dresses. Designer Loidian Cordero combines these elements along with luxe jersey fabrics to give life to this classic and flirtatious line being showcased on Thursday, September 18, 2003 during Fashion Week in NYC at Villa Giardinetto.
Cordero's new line comes on the heels of an emerging trend of innovative Latino designers who have taken the fashion world by storm. And with everything Latino being HOT these days, "Cordero" speaks to everyone, because every woman loves to dress up, feel good, look great and have fun!
As a former personal stylist to Jennifer Lopez and a client list that includes Heidi Klum, Arnell Group, and KCD, Inc., Cordero has mastered the art of dressing a woman.
Fifteen years of extensive traveling as a stylist and understanding the importance of comfort, style and affordability, gave Cordero the inspiration to start her very own clothing line. "I designed dresses for my own needs; quality fabrics, excellent craftsmanship and price-point sensible," says Cordero.
The island of Puerto Rico is her muse and a key element used throughout the exotic palette of this line: Azul Caribe, Negro de Gala, Palma Verde, Dulce de Leche and Champagne y Rosas. Silk jersey, silk charmeuse, silk crepe and matte jersey fabrics drape the body and create the most amazing silhoutte through the use of rouching, cinching and twisting. "I wanted to create clothing that is sophisticated, sensual yet versatile," she explains. The choice of fabrics for her dresses was evident: soft to the touch and luxurious on the skin.
A graduate of Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC (FIT), Cordero has extensive fashion experience and has worked with the fashion elite: Versace, Calvin Klein, Gucci, Chanel, Oscar de La Renta, Narciso Rodriguez, and Anna Sui.
A native New Yorker of Puerto Rico descent, Cordero realizes the importance of fun and practical clothing, which can take you from work to a night out on the town with ease.
Future plans for "Cordero" include a maternity line. Who says expecting mothers can't be fashionably sexy...stay tuned.
